Heading into 2024, VIP Completions' hangars are full and outlook for refurbishment services is positive

At present, VIP Completions' hangars are full. Major ongoing projects include:

• The comprehensive interior refurbishment of a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ)

• Conversion of a Gulfstream G550 from business aircraft to medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) air ambulance

• Full interior refurbishment of a Dassault Falcon 7X

"These are all big projects," says Ben Shirazi, President, VIP Completions. "Working on corporate airliners and long-range business jets gives our team the opportunity to transform and revitalize aircraft. Comprehensive refurbishments dramatically improve the in-flight experience while increasing the value of our clients' assets. In the case of our air ambulance project, the contrast is even greater – going forward, that aircraft will be deployed to save lives."

The industry consensus seems to be that growth in 2024 will be modest, somewhere around 2%. JETNET predicts approximately 775 business aircraft deliveries this year. With the industry back to a pre-pandemic reality and the supply chain now generally supporting demand, stability seems likely.

"Looking specifically at pre-owned business aircraft, we anticipate a slight softening in pricing this year. However, that can be beneficial for refurbishments and conversions because buyers will take a closer look at value. In turn, owners may decide that upgrading their current aircraft is more attractive than putting it on the market. For these reasons, we believe that refurbishments and conversions will remain quite strong. If the first days of 2024 are any indication, we are feeling optimistic," adds Ben Shirazi.

Since the company was founded almost a decade ago, the VIP Completions team has extensively refurbished six BBJs, two Boeing 757s, a Boeing 767 and a Boeing 727, clearly establishing its expertise in Boeing corporate airliner completions projects.

The BBJ is a high-performance derivative of the Boeing 737, capable of flying more than 6,000 nautical miles non-stop. First introduced in 1998, there are approximately 140 BBJs in service worldwide today.

New Custom Paint Job for the Global 5000

VIP Completions in Fort Lauderdale recently unveiled their latest project, a complete remodel of an elegant Global 5000. The new refurbishment is on top of the 12 completed projects this year, with the company on pace to complete two aircraft renovations monthly with a fully booked schedule through 2022.

The remodel of the Global 5000 included copper and gray livery, Garrett leather seats in tan with chocolate accents, divans in Loro Piana fabrics with contrasting piping detail, Loro Piana carpeting and rose gold metal plating throughout the cabin. Other enhancements featured matte-finished oak veneer wood cabinets and tapis on all upper accent panels adding to an overall aesthetic featuring a sophisticated yet relaxed look.

Technological upgrades include ALTO HD audio with two-zone capability, high-speed internet, new full HD screens throughout the aircraft, an integrated entertainment center outfitted with a media server, and two Apple TVs for zone media streaming. The LED lighting is full-spectrum pixelated RGB, allowing control of each pixel separately and unlimited capability to customize cabin lighting schemes. An iPad-enabled custom cabin management system can control all in-cabin technology features for a seamless, streamlined experience.

 Early in the process, VIP Completions also consulted on the acquisition, providing expertise on budget and timeline management. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery before the end of the calendar year.  

 The aircraft’s floor plan will offer an unparalleled level of highly-personalized comfort and luxury. The cabin has been segmented into six distinct living spaces. The centerpiece will be the main lounge, featuring an 80-inch home cinema, DJ station with audiophile-caliber sound system and a full dining table. Other compartments include a master en-suite bedroom with a full queen-size bed, and two lounge areas, convertible into bedrooms. The aircraft will seat 33 and comfortably sleep 16 passengers. It will have two galleys, a conference room with seating for eight and four lavatories, two featuring full stand-up showers.

 The completely renewed interior will provide an exquisite in-flight experience. All passenger touch points – high-speed internet, HD audio and full spectrum LED lighting – are state-of-the-art, controlled by a custom cabin management system.
